Party and party and yeah!
This week was a blast! We had so many adventures aside from
our
proselyting which made the week zoom by. Last Monday we went
to an
amusement park called Knoebles. We got to hang out with
other
missionaries for the day and had a blast riding on some fun
roller
coasters. It was probably the best P day spent on my mission
so far.
Sister Thompson also tried a funnel cake for the first time!
Apparently they don't have them up in Utah.
There was also a local carnival this past week, so we used
our dinner
break to go on some of the rides. It was really small, but
still a fun
way to spend an hour. I love fairs and carnivals, but I
think my
motion sickness has gotten worse because boy oh boy was my
stomach not
too happy. I just sucked it up though because I was having
too much
fun to let that get in the way.
After district meeting we had a pot luck and then a water
balloon
fight. It's been hot this past week, and our district leader
likes to
play games during that hour. It was so much fun and a nice
little way
to cool down and best the heat. We got soaked, but it was a
good thing
we brought a change of clothes!
Besides all the fun, we did manage to do the regular
missionary
shindig. We probably spent a good ten hours attempting to
find people
this past week. There were some days when all our
appointments fell
through so we hit the streets and tried to contact potential
investigators in the area. It's not the most glamorous thing
to do,
but we were able to figure out that a majority of the people
in our
record had moved. Sadly, there wasn't any success that came
from
finding this past week, but eventually we will find some
more people
to teach!
Ju is continuing to do great. She said that she thinks
this is what
she wants, but wants to be certain before she commits to
being
baptized. We brought a lady from the branch along which was
great
because she is starting to feel more and more comfortable
with the
members here.
We taught J a small lesson this week, and then helped him
mow his
lawn and weed. It was really funny because Sister Thompson's
legs were
too short to drive the mower so I got to mow the whole thing
while she
weeded. We sure make a good combo because I don't fancy
weeding but
she loves it! I'll stick to driving the lawn mower any day
haha
Not much to report with R, S, or A, but slowly
they are
making progress.
We had MLC and Stake Conference this week, so it was one full
of
meetings but they were all great. I was able to recommit
myself to
being a better missionary at MLC which was great. It was
also so
refreshing to attend church with a normal sized chapel that
was full.
There is such a better spirit when the congregation is
bigger, and I
really missed that environment so it was a nice treat from
the small
branch. We had Elder Dunagan from the 70 come and he did a
great job
at motivating everyone to get to the temple. I cannot wait
to take an
investigator to the Philadelphia open house, especially
since this
could be my only opportunity to go to the temple while on my
mission.
Sister Morrison
Right after we got soaked on the log ride. We dried off
super fast because it was nice and warm. Closest thing to
swimming on my mission!
Knoebles Gang
Post water balloon fight.
Of course I had to take advantage of a pot
luck with fried chicken by wearing my Amish straw hat!
