Burn baby burn!
This past week the heat has finally come! I think it's
really funny
how everyone has been dreading this day, and I have finally
realized
why: central AC is not a thing in PA, so they have no way to
escape
the heat. Sadly, we are included in the no AC predicament.
Nights have
been pretty toasty for us, but overall the sun is treating
us well.
Sister N was gone on vacation this past week so when it
came time
for weekly planning we sat out on her lawn chairs and got a
nice start
to our summer tans. They don't say "tan while you
plan" for no reason
;) We also had a fun water balloon fight with the M
kids last
Monday. The highlight of that was when I slipped on dog poop
and went
rolling down their grass. Thankfully, I slipped away from
the poop!
Saturday the most glorious thing happened. We heard the
mailman put a
package on our doorstep and the greatest thing known to man
was
inside...my rollerblades!! No lie, they were an answer to my
prayers
because Lock Haven can be pretty dull, but now Pdays, and
morning
workouts are going to be great! We have already hit the
pavement in
them, and can I just say, life is better with rollerblades!
We taught a lesson to J this past week and it went
great. We have
been struggling to know what exactly to help him with and we
decided
to read the Book of Mormon with him. It went so well, he
asked a bunch
of questions, and loved it. At the end of the chapter he
said he is
starting to open up to our religion because he now can see
that we are
simply teaching of Christ, and that he feels the spirit when
we are
with him. He is a great man, and always sends us thank you
texts that
just make being a missionary great.
Ju is continuing to do great, and loved the lesson on the
Plan of
Salvation. At church we had a little pump up lesson about
the
Philadelphia temple, so hopefully she will be interested in
going to
that with us!
The whole A / R clan got a little crazier when
another one of
A's friends moved in this week. Her name is S, and as
we talked
with her she expressed an interest in the church, so we are
going to
start teaching her as well. Although A carries a lot of
baggage
and has a super complicated living situation, she sure makes
finding
investigators easy for us! There are well over a dozen cats
in the
trailer, with another litter on its way, and while we were
sitting and
talk if a cat jumped up on me and gave me a heart attack. Of
course I
screamed on the top of my lungs which put everyone in a fit
of
laughter. For some reason cats like to come and freak me out
which is
funny for everyone but me.
We were also able to meet with Sister C and her son
B. They
go to the Williamsport Ward, but are in our branch boundaries
so we
teach them. B wants to be baptized, but we hadn't been
able to
contact the family since I've gotten here. We decided to try
one more
time before we dropped him, and let the Williamsport elders
take over,
but a fully they were home! We had a great talk and set some
expectations, like how we actually have to meet for him to
be
baptized. We reset him with a date, so now we will be
teaching him. I
guess teaching nine year old boys is the trend of my
mission!

Look at that girl go on her rollerblades!
Brother G invited us and the M's over for dinner!
